Russia's State Duma Approves Year-Round Draft for Mandatory Military Service

The State Duma has approved a bill for year-round military conscription, shifting from biannual drafts, which could significantly impact Russias military readiness and societal dynamics.

• The State Duma passed the conscription bill in its third reading, enabling mandatory military service throughout the entire calendar year from January 1 to December 31.
• Previously, the draft occurred twice a year, with the Military commissariat conducting enlistments from April 1 to July 15 and from October 1 to December 31.
