Education Ministry Pushes AI Curriculum Reform for Classes 3 and Up

The Ministry of Education (India) is set to introduce Artificial intelligence and Computational Thinking into school Curriculum from Class 3 starting in the 2026-27 academic year, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

Beginning in the academic session 2026-27, the Curriculum for schools will include Artificial intelligence and Computational Thinking, aimed at enhancing modern learning practices.
The initiative is supported by the National Council of Educational Research and Training, ensuring that educational standards align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The Central Board of Secondary Education will oversee the implementation of the new Curriculum, while institutions like IIT Madras may contribute to developing educational resources.
