"Delhi Hospitals See Spike in Burn Injuries Post-Diwali Celebrations"

Following the festive Diwali celebrations, Delhi hospitals, including the All India Institutes of Medical Sciences, reported a dramatic rise in burn injuries due to firecracker accidents.

• Between October 19 and October 21, hospitals in Delhi recorded 60 burn cases, with a significant spike of 33 incidents occurring on Diwali day alone.
• Patients aged between 10 and 40 years made up the majority of burn injury cases reported at facilities such as Safdarjung Hospital and Guru Tegh Bahadur.
• The increases in firecracker-related burn injuries underscore ongoing safety concerns during Diwali, prompting hospitals to prepare for such seasonal emergencies.
