Ryu ( ; Japanese: リュウ, Hepburn: Ryū) is a character and the protagonist of Capcom's Street Fighter series. Introduced in Street Fighter (1987), Ryu appears as the game's lead character alongside his best friend and friendly rival Ken Masters.
